Rather than email rsvps the way you did in the past, you can now sign up on the gdoc. You can better keep track of your paddling volunteers and see how full classes are. You'll get a confirmation email about a week before the event. A link for the steering sign-ups is in an email sent to your team leadership.
Since anyone can edit this workbook, please be careful when deleting info. If you see a cell with a colored outline (not gray, and not your own blue), someone else is currently working on that cell, so skip a few and fill in your info somewhere else. Certain sheets and cells are protected and can only be edited by admin, so you don't need to worry about those ones. But they do contain useful info.
Safety classes are REQUIRED for NEW steers and are held the afternoon of the CPR class. As always, you do not need to be CPR certified through our classes. Just update your CPR info in the database. I'll check by the deadline and if you are not current you will be steering de-certified and will not be eligible to steer at Big LB.
We are getting new steering numbers this year (red numbers on yellow backgrounds). Old numbers that were lost or expired are being reissued. Please turn in your old number when you get your new one (easier for me to keep track of who has a new one). If you lost your number, no worries, you'll get a new one anyway.
Since ALL steers will need to take the online steering written tests this year, I will exchange your steering badge after you have taken the written test. Written test will go up sometime before the first CPR class so we can exchange numbers on class day. If you're not going to the CPR class, I'll periodically be at the beach to exchange steering numbers. There is no rush; the deadline to get your new number is before Big LB. Only steers with wristbands and yellow badges will be allowed to steer at Big LB.
